Lessons are designed to be friendly, supportive and focused on steady progress. From first-time players to students looking to improve their technique or follow a graded path, there are lesson options to suit different needs and goals.

Lesson

45 Minute Lesson

Whilst starting out we recommend 30 minute sessions to keep things enjoyable. For those with a little more stamina, or wanting a little more time in each session, I recommend a 45 minute session.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s ability and musical interests, whether they are a complete beginner or already playing at an intermediate level. Sessions focus on building good technique, improving timing and rhythm, and developing confidence through a mix of structured exercises and songs the student enjoys playing.

For students who wish to work towards graded exams, lessons can follow the RSL / Rockschool syllabus, using the appropriate book for their level. This provides a clear learning path and goals to work towards. Students following the grade route will need to purchase the relevant Rockschool book.

Weekly lessons allow time for regular practice and gradual improvement, with guidance on what to work on between sessions. The aim is to help students enjoy playing the guitar, develop their skills over time, and build confidence as a musician.

30 Minute Taster Lesson

This 30-minute taster lesson is a great way to try guitar lessons and see if they’re a good fit before committing to regular sessions.

The lesson is relaxed and tailored to the student’s current level, whether they are picking up a guitar for the first time or already know a few basics. During the session, Harry will get a feel for the student’s experience, musical interests and goals, and introduce some simple techniques or exercises to get them playing straight away.

The aim of the taster lesson is to make sure the student feels comfortable, enjoys the experience, and wants to continue learning. It also gives parents and students a chance to see how lessons work and to ask any questions about ongoing tuition.

If the student decides to continue after the taster session, regular lesson slots and pricing can then be discussed.
